Exciting Announcement

Hello everybody!

Interviews shall resume next week (and I still need more, so please keep sending those interview requests!).

Today I have an exciting announcement about an upcoming appearance.

Lauren-Jankowski_BADGE

Yours truly is going to be in Artist Alley at Ace Comic Con with my series The Shape Shifter Chronicles! I’m super excited about this show because it’s freaking massive. I love meeting readers and fellow aces at these shows. And I’m also going to be table neighbors with a fellow ace artist, who was actually featured on this site a while back (Hallopino: Tumblr & WordPress).

Here’s the message that was sent with this shiny social media badge: “I am thrilled to announce I will be appearing at @acecomiccon Midwest at Chicago’s Navy Pier October 12-14th alongside Tom Hiddleston, Josh Brolin, & many more for an amazing weekend! Want to join us? Get your tix here: http://ow.ly/uqjO30l7DOf #acecomiccon”

It’s going to be a great show.

If you’re planning on attending, please drop by Artist Alley and say hi!

Thanks, everybody!

ADDENDUM: Ace Comic Con has nothing to do with asexuality. Rather that’s more a hilarious coincidence :-p

A Couple Signal Boosts

Hello all!

I have a couple super exciting updates. I’ll start with the most exciting one.

C2E2 Panel!

I know I mentioned this earlier. I’m presenting a panel entitled “Where are the Asexual Artists” at C2E2, which is a massive Chicago convention. I’m incredibly excited but also quite nervous. The panel schedule just went live and you can find all the information about the panel at this link: http://www.c2e2.com/en/Sessions/18474/Where-are-the-Asexual-Voices

It’s going to be on Friday, March 18th at 5:30 and I hope to see some followers there. However, if you can’t attend, a good friend of mine is going to record it and I’ll post it (most likely on YouTube).

“Embraceable” in Paperback

The book I have an essay in, Embraceable, is now available in paperback. So if you’ve ever wondered how I became the badass aro-ace feminist that I am today, you’ll want to check that out.

To celebrate the release, August McLaughlin is having a week-long release party and giving away some pretty sweet prizes. You can get more information on her own blog: http://www.augustmclaughlin.com/blog-2/

I’m still hard at work on my fifth novel and could still really use more sales. My job is as an author, that’s how I make a living. Conventions are a drain on my finances and I don’t have any real marketing aside from word of mouth. So please, buy books (you can find more info on my personal site and I have a Square store), leave nice reviews, and tell your friends.

Thank you, everybody 🙂

Asexual Artists Assemble: More Announcements

Hello all!

I have a super exciting announcement and I’m so incredibly giddy about it.

Asexual Artists Panel at C2E2

C2E2 is one of the largest conventions in Chicago. I try to go every year because I like the atmosphere and a lot of my friends attend. One thing that has always bugged me is the lack of asexual representation. I decided to submit my “Where are the Asexual Voices?” panel this year. I didn’t think anything would come of it because they are always inundated with such amazing panels. But it couldn’t hurt to try.

Imagine my surprise when I received an email that said the panel had been accepted. “Where are the Asexual Voices” is going to be presented at C2E2 this year!

I am in an absolute state of shock. Wow. I am going to do my very best to bring more attention to asexual creators and I am going to give it my all. I plan to do a similar presentation to what I did at WisCon: a PowerPoint of the art from this site and a handout of links. Oh my god, I have so much work to do.

Oh my god, I wish I could properly explain just how massive this convention is. It’s the biggest one I do all year and the attendance is bigger every year. I’m so nervous, but I will do my best. If you’re in the Chicagoland area and are going to be attending, please try to stop by.

*I still have to update my appearances schedule on all my sites, including this one. So keep an eye on the scheduled appearances (I won’t find out the time and place of the panel until January 22nd I believe, but I will post the information once I receive it).

WANTED: More interviewees!

As you’ve probably noticed, I’m once again running low on interviewees. Please, keep spreading the word about this site to all the ace-identifying artists you know.

Remember: all experience levels (professional, student, aspiring) and all fields are welcome on this site.  Writers, visual artists, performance artists (dancers, actors, models, etc.), musicians (singers, playing instruments, etc.), and whatever else you can think of.

If you want to be interviewed, or have any questions, please send me an email: laurenjankowski27@gmail.com
