Signal Boost: Werewolves vs. Hollywood

Dylan Fields is an awesome writer who interviewed with Asexual Artists a while back (Tumblr & WordPress). He has a new story out in a zine entitled Werewolves vs. Hollywood. Here’s what he has to say about his story:

“My story is titled “Negative Exposure” and it’s a comedy about two paparazzi photographers who stake out an actor’s house to try and get compromising pictures of him, only to discover an even bigger “scandal,” he’s a werewolf!“

Dylan is a phenomenal author and come on! Werewolves! And the cover! What’s not to love!? 😀

Please, check out the story and give Dylan some love 🙂

*Note: I made an error. The author’s name is Dylan Fields, not Edwards. My bad. This post has been corrected to reflect that. Apologies to Dylan Fields.

Traditionally published, self-published, small press, etc. You’re all welcome and you all have something to offer.

VISUAL ARTISTS: Self explanatory, any kind of visual art you can imagine (photography, painting, sketching, drawing, sculpture, installation, etc.).

FANARTISTS: Another self-explanatory category. Cosplay, visual, fanfiction, etc. Whatever you do in your fandom (any and all fandoms welcome), you’re an artist.

FILMMAKERS: YouTubers, directors, cinematographers, anything that has to do with making films (short, features, documentaries, etc).

DANCERS: Any kind of dance style you can imagine is welcome here (ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, burlesque, belly-dancing, ballroom, etc.)

All levels of artists are welcome: whether you’re a student or a professional, just starting out or already established. If you create, you have something to offer and therefore I want to interview you

If you’re still unsure whether or not your art qualifies (there’s a 97.9% chance it will), and your question isn’t answered in the F.A.Q., please contact me at laurenjankowski27@gmail.com

If you want to be interviewed, please email me at the same address (laurenjankowski27@gmail.com)

This site continues because I get requests for interviews. If the interviews run out, this site will remain as a resource 🙂 Updates will continue as long as there are aces out there willing to be interviewed.

Thank you, everybody.

I just want all you amazing, talented, wonderful artists who have already been interviewed: you are making such a difference.

Giving an interview may seem like a small thing, perhaps even insignificant, but believe me when I say that so many aces have found comfort and inspiration in your words. I have received numerous messages about how much this blog means to people, especially to aces still coming to terms with their identity. That’s a truly wonderful thing 😀

So please, keep those interview requests coming!

Signal Boost: Help Bring Asexual Artists to NWSA

Hi everyone!

I’ve recently been offered an exciting opportunity to bring Asexual Artists to the National Women’s Studies Association Conference in Baltimore. While I’ve been given a $250 travel grant, I really need some help with travel expenses. Money is incredibly tight (I’ve had a rough few months, which I might write about eventually). I’ve started a fundraiser to help offset the various travel costs.

Here’s the link to the fundraiser: https://www.youcaring.com/laurenjankowski-878223

I need to raise $570 by November. Every little bit helps and I appreciate whatever you can spare. If you can’t afford to donate, than please share. This is such a phenomenal opportunity and I am very excited about it.

I might reblog this every now and again until November.

Thank you! 🙂

More Interviewees Wanted

(This is a repeat post, which I’ll do from time to time when I’m running low on interviews. It’s just a reminder that Asexual Artists is always open for more interviewees)

Hello all!

Once again, I’m low on interviewees. Since I don’t have the time to constantly post calls every single time I’m running low, I’m hoping to use this post as a kind of a reminder:

Signal Boost: “Albenzauber“

Hello all!

I’ve got a special signal boost today. Carmilla DeWinter is an author who did an interview with Asexual Artists a while back (Tumblr & WordPress). She’s got a new book out entitled Albenzauber. Carmilla is also going to be doing a reading on April 23rd in Mainz, Germany.

Here’s all the information about the book:

“Albenzauber” (Elven Charms) is about the elf Nives, who has raised her prince Cir in the human realm after saving him from a coup. When she accidentally uses the elven charm on a young human male, thus driving him out of his mind, she and Cir return home to find a cure. There they find out that the usurper, beautiful and power-hungry Noctuola, is preparing a war with the humans. Cir is determined to save his heritage and asks a seer for help: They will have to find a human being, neither man nor woman, who is immune to the elven charms. This seems highly unlikely, until they meet the androgynous human mage Heilika. Heilika does agree to help them, while forcing Nives to question everything she believes about herself.

You’ll meet two aces, one of them genderqueer with female pronouns, plus everything a sword and sorcery adventure needs.

Unfortunately, only available in German.

So if you’re in Germany, please go show a fellow ace some love!

Thanks, everybody!

Signal Boost for a Musician

Hi everyone!

Apologies for the extended absence (I’ve got a deadline looming and I’m still taking ASL classes). Interview posting will resume Monday 🙂

Anyhow, I should have posted this earlier, but an artist interviewed on this site (Claire: WordPress & Tumblr ) sent me a message and I thought some of you lovely followers would be interested:

Hey there! It’s Claire – you did an interview with me a little bit ago but I just wanted to let you know I created a SoundCloud and released an EP on there if anyone’s interested in checking it out! https://soundcloud.com/claire-kaelin

So go visit the link, send Claire some love.

Signal Boost: Success 5000

Hello all!

I have a bit of an unusual boost for all you lovely followers. Not too long ago, I interviewed a fantastic cinematographer named James Hastings (interview here: Tumblr & WordPress). He recently finished working on a music video for a musical comedy duo.

The video can be found here: I Wanna Eat Everything

The band itself is not ace, but James did excellent work on the video and feels they deserve a bit more exposure. 🙂

So give it a watch, leave a like and/or a nice comment, show them some love!
